ARTICLE:: What is the blood of Jesus for?

The believer in Christ must be given to teaching and more teachings.
Apostle Paul says the same to Timothy :
1Timothy 4:13
13 Till I come, devote yourself to [public and private] reading, to exhortation (preaching and personal appeals), and to teaching and instilling doctrine.

Apostle Paul in all of his epistles, repeatedly prays for the Saints to come into the epignosis (revealed and detailed knowledge) of Jesus Christ, and the inheritance of the believer in Christ.
Ephesians 1:17-18
17 [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him,
18 By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones),
The believer in Christ, is the most powerful person on earth!
We are eternally victorious and we should know this!
The believer in Christ doesn’t have security challenge.
The cliche, “I soak and deep and cover my self with the blood of Jesus ” is a born out of ignorance and has no foundation in the written Word of God.
Let’s do a quick one on Blood of Jesus

What is the blood of Jesus Christ for?

1. The Perfect Sacrifice For Sin.
You see, even under the law, Nobody cry’s to God for forgiveness of sins. Nobody did!
They had a way of doing that.
Hebrews 9:22
22 [In fact] under the Law almost everything is purified by means of blood, and without the shedding of blood there is neither release from sin and its guilt nor the remission of the due and merited punishment for sins.

Please follow…

The blood of animals was their hope for the purification of their bodies. Nothing else could help the situation.

God didn’t forgive eternally because of his ‘soft heart’
God forgave us when His Son shed His blood to that effect. No forgiveness until the blood of Jesus Christ was shed
Hebrews 9:12
/He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).
Salvation and the Redemption of mankind, was the primary aim of the blood of Jesus Christ.

2. We Were Reconciled To God by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 3:23-25
Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.
24 [All] are justified and made upright and in right standing with God, freely and gratuitously by His grace (His unmerited favor and mercy), through the redemption which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
25 Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment
Our sins were forgiven when God saw the blood of Jesus!

Ephesians 1:7
In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor,

What the blood of Jesus Christ is not for:

1. It’s not afood ingredient!
You don’t cover your food with the blood of Jesus Christ! That’s a clear display of ignorance!
Many do this because of fear. The blood of Jesus Christ is not a food poison antidote.
Ignorance is the problem here.

See this

Mark 16:17-18
17 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
18 They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.

The question is , haven’t you believed?

If you have, the blood of Jesus Christ doesn’t have to be upon your meals! The deadly thing won’t harm you, since you believe!
2. The blood of Jesus is not for safe travels.
Covering the road and the driver, and his wind screen with the blood of Jesus Christ is in fact a threat to safety. You don’t want to have a bloody journey!
You are protected!

Psalms 91:9-12
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,
10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.
11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

You see, most believers don’t believe this.
Even the devil knows the power in the word of God. He knows that you can rest on the written word of God. Hence he goes on to blind the eyes of many people! He knows you’re protected!
Luke 4:
9 Then he took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on a gable of the temple, and said to Him, If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here;
10 For it is written, He will give His angels charge over you to guard and watch over you closely and carefully;
11 And on their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.

The angels are watching over you carefully! You don’t need a bloody roady and a bloody driver! You just need to know how heavily and specially protected you are

3. The blood of Jesus is not for defense or attacking the enemy:
Most church folks won’t pray until they have mentioned the names of their enemies and village people.
The enemy has been defeated! We no longer wrestle to win! We are no longer waiting for God to announce the winner. “Oh God show my enemies that you are God in my life”. Dear, your enemy knows! You’re the ignorant one here!
What is the present state of the enemy?
Colossians 2:15
15 [God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross]
Let me use an Easy-to-read version.
Colossians2:
15 He defeated the rulers and powers of the spiritual world. With the cross he won the victory over them and led them away, as defeated and powerless prisoners for the whole world to see.

The whole world was the target audience, how come you didn’t see your victory in Christ? But thank God for the written word of God!
Where is the believer in Christ? And can he be attacked and threatened by the enemy?

Ephesians 2:6
6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Can the enemy come up here (where the believer is) ?

Ephesians 1:20-22
20 Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places],
21 Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come.
22 And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church],

Can the enemy harm him (the believer in Christ) ?
1 John 5:18
18 We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches over and protects him [Christ’s divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him]
Stay on this truth! Forget about popular beliefs. When it’s not founded on the word of God, it’s a lie! Discard it!

Questions are welcome.
I said all that to say, that in this new month, our eyes will be flooded with lights from the word of God. We see Jesus and we! understand clearly who we are in Him. Because, as He is, so are we in this world! (1 John 4:17).
