Nigerian Christian recording artiste Jlyricz continues with his prolific run which has seen him release new music every single month of the year so far. His new single “Dike” which means Hero in Igbo language is a smooth and soothing tribute to the Almighty and is as vulnerable as anything you would hear from a song which he says is from actual life experiences.

“I have held on to this song for a while now and was weary about releasing it because I don’t know how it would be received by listeners, especially those close to me who actually know what I am talking about. Dike is my most personal song till date and I tried not to make the lyrics too obvious but I’m not sure I did a great job about that. I just know I love this song and it’s very close to my heart and I pray it helps anyone who might be in the same situations as I was. That’s all I ask for concerning Dike.”

Dike is written by Jlyricz while production credit goes to long-term collaborator E-mex and ad libs were by Lote.

LYRICS

Have you seen the fear that’s in my eyes?

Have you felt the lust that’s in my heart?

Seen the pride that’s drowning my mind yeah?

Sometimes I’m unsure of where I stand

I have struggled with myself

Struggled with the man I am

Told myself I’m crazy when I’m not

You’ve been here you’ve never left

Since the day I raised my hands

Told you Lord please take me I am yours

You’re my dike dike dike eh

You’re my dike dike dike eh

I found love then I lost it

But you brought her back to me

Took my ego and made me the man she needs

I remember

Daddy said boy you’re no man

Mama asked boy who are you

And my sisters turned their backs on me one time

Still I move through life with a joyful heart

Knowing some day they’ll know that you are mine

You’re my dike my dike my dike eh! (You’re my you’re my dike)

You’re my dike my dike my dike eh eh eh! (You’re my you’re my dike)
