Matt Hammitt’s 9-year-old son Bowen was born with a hole in his heart and on July 31st he is set to undergo his third open heart surgery. However, his tragic health struggles have not held Bowen back from pursuing his dream of writing and recording music. “Leading up to his surgery, he asked me if I would write and record some music with him. Of course, I said, ‘Yes!’,” Matt shared on social media.
Bowen, with the help of his dad who is the former frontman of Sanctus Real, recently released two heart-wrenching songs titled “Safe Right Here” and “Whole Heart.” These new songs will be released to the public on July 1st, but can be heard today at www.BowensHeart.com, where you can also donate to help the Hammitt’s medical expenses and support further releases from Bowen.
