News have it that the Assemblies of God Nigeria has suspended it’s general superintendent(GS) on the 3rd of March 2020 over immoral acts.
Some years ago (2014 precisely) the former GS Prof Paul Emeka was suspended over financial mismanagement and it rocked the church with many problems that have not ended fully.
It is pain in our hearts that such should happen again.
Evidently, the Assemblies of God church is not owned by one man but by a group of leaders so no one has autonomy.
It is said in AGC, no one is above the law and constitution of the church.
Though many people have reservations about it as they say the moves were more political than moral, some even argue that the evidences are too shallow and the terms of the suspension was on what the church calls “EVIL APPEARANCE accompanied by witnesses who claim He was promiscuous as a young man. some argue that the executive committee (EC) governing the affair of the church should have just asked him to step down to save the face of the church. It may have been some game of thrones some suppose. we have nothing to do but live with the judgement and pray for the church as it barely has recovered from the previous issue that rocked it.
May God help AG, Nigeria.
