Australian Rugby Star Player ‘Israel Folau’ Banished For Saying ‘Repent! Only Jesus Saves’

Australian Rugby Star Player Banished For Saying ‘Repent! Only Jesus Saves’ On His Instagram.

The Australian rugby union authorities have decided to end their contract with star center Israel Folau after he posted a message on Instagram urging sinners to “repent.”

Folau’s Rugby Australia contract was terminated in April, but he requested a hearing in light of the disciplinary action.

In a statement on the decision, Rugby Australia declared that by sharing the post, the 30-year-old, who is widely considered one of the best players in the world, “had committed a high-level breach of the Professional Players’ Code of Conduct warranting termination of his employment contract”.

What Does Israel Folau’s Instagram Post Actually Say?

The post, which is still live on Folau’s page and has attracted over 63,000 likes, declares “WARNING,” before listing a number of sins which must be repented of, pending eternal judgment.

Referencing 1 Corinthians 6:9, he listed “Drunks, homosexuals, drunks, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, idolaters,” before imploring “HELL AWAITS YOU,” and “REPENT! ONLY JESUS SAVES.”

Those that are living in Sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Israel Folau is however, not the first Australian Rugby player who has received backlash for posting scriptures on his social media. Recall that another Australian rugby player, Samu Kerevi, was last month, forced to apologize to fans for posting scriptural content on his instagram.

Kerevi wrote: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Thank You Jesus for dying on the cross for me. I love you Jesus.”
