Jesu Do” means “Thank You, Jesus.” It was not written, it was released in a moment of deep reflection and gratitude. Around 2021, just before stepping up to preach, Rev Atenaga was overwhelmed by God’s goodness.
“As I stood there, reflecting on how faithful God had been to me, to my family, and to our church, Something began to rise within me. Not a sermon. A song. The melody came first… soft, but strong. Then the words followed, simple, sincere, and soaked in gratitude: ‘Jesu do…’”
What started as a personal expression became a corporate sound of thanksgiving as the band and congregation flowed without rehearsal. “Jesu Do” is a song born out of service, in the middle of assignment, from deep remembrance of God’s faithfulness. It captures the truth that sometimes, when words fail, gratitude sings.
